Drawing Up A Storm

A 10 week after school class for 1st and  2nd grade students (and mature Kindergarteners), Thursdays at The Art Garage, located in the South Tabor neighborhood. This class will also be offered to students in 2nd - 4th grades on Mondays. Email Anne for details.

Starting with an introduction to loupes, we will use magnifiers to view and draw the world we see up close. Broadening our scope, we will delve into MC Escher, making our own tessellations. We will try our hand at Zentangling, There will be other surprises along the way as we draw up a storm at The Art Garage. 

Thursday- October 8, 15, 22 (no school, but we will run class), 29/ November 5, 12, 19, / December 3, 10, 17. December 17, (last class) is the Art Show, from 5 – 5:30 PM

Minimum class size 4, Maximum 6 (there is one space left)
Class time is 3:30 – 5:30, students may arrive from 3:15 – 3:30, students bring snack. $200 includes materials.

Please note that class time will be from 3:30 – 5:30, though you may drop your child off anytime between 3:15 and 3:30.

Anne Storrs taught art through Artist in the Schools, Saturday Academy, Young Audiences and as an elementary art school teacher. She was involved in the early phases of Atkinson Elementary Schools', Outdoor Learning Gardens and created the website ayearintheschoolgarden.org with a grant from the Oregon Community Foundation. She is also a working artist. Her early work included ceramic tile and bas relief. A recently completed work is "Along These Lines", created for the Portland Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project.
